How to Generate an IGNOU DEB ID?

DEB ID is very important for taking admission at any course in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). To make the DEB ID, students must have an Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID. To make your DEB ID, follow the steps below
- Visit the DEB website @deb.ugc.ac.in/StudentDEBId.
- On the website, a dialogue box is given for DEB ID generation.
- If the student already has an ABC ID, they can enter the ABC ID in that dialogue box, and it will generate the DEB ID.
- For students who do not have Aan BC ID, they can visit the DigiLocker and create their ABC ID there.
- After creating the ABC ID, they can return to the DEB portal to register and create a DEB ID.
IGNOU 2nd Year Admission 2026 July Session
Students who have already taken admission in IGNOU have to re-register in the second year. Indira Gandhi National Open University will commence the re-registration procedure for their UG and PG level course into the July 2026 academic session from 5 May 2026.
