- Applicants who have completed Class 12 along with a three-year Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) must have at least two years of work experience after registration.
- Those who have passed Class 10 and hold a three-year GNM diploma are required to have a minimum of five years of work experience after registration.
- Male nurses, or candidates who did not study midwifery as part of their GNM course, must hold a nursing certificate that is approved by the Indian Nursing Council in place of midwifery training.

- IGNOU has prescribed a structured fee pattern for the Post Basic BSc Nursing programme. The course fee is INR 23000, which is to be paid in year-wise installments.
